LAUNCH OF COMMUNITY DIALOGUE AT NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LESOTHO ON NON – INCIDENTAL VIOLENCE

As part of the Mathomo Project, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) Department of Student Affairs (DSA) in partnership with the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) is hosting the Community Leaders Dialogue on Non Incidental Violence scheduled over the next two and a half days of the 24th, 25th, and 26th of July 2024 under the theme of ” Safeguarding the Roma Community from the Non-Incidental Violence” . The dialogue was officially opened by the substantive Pro. Vice Chancellor acting as Vice Chancellor – Professor Kananelo E MOSITO (KC).
The primary focus of the dialogue is the non-incidental violence during NUL student protests, the objective is to engage all stakeholders in discussing and developing strategies to prevent such incidents during future student protests.The Dialogue involves the Roma Community leaders, Roma Police , NUL SRC Members,Roma Business Owners, Office of the NUL Registrar, NUL Safety and Security, NUL DSA,National Security Services, Lesotho Mounted Police Service and Lesotho Defence Force. The facilitation of the dialogue was conducted in collaboration with development partners such as Development for Peace Education (DPE) and UNAIDS amongst others.
