Federation of Gymnastics Lesotho Coaching Course Level 1

Federation of Gymnastics Lesotho held Rhythmic Gymnastics Level 1 coaches course for 4days at Maria ‘Mabasotho hall. The Course was facilitated by Julene VAN ROOYEN, FIG expert from Cape Town.
The course was running concurrently with a training camp for Tumbling Gymnastics which was meant to prepare our 8 tumbling gymnasts who were to take part in the Ausc Region 5 games to be held in Malawi this year. The Tumbling camp was facilitated by FIG Member who is the development officer for Africa and a former tumbling gymnast Mr Tseko Mogotsi who is also from Cape Town.

Lesotho National Olympic Committee and Eswatini National Olympic Committee hold Bilateral Meeting in Maseru

The Lesotho National Olympic Committee through its Winter Sports Programme has welcomed a contingent of Eswatini National Olympic Committee for a Bilateral Meeting between the two National Olympic Committees. The main objective of this visit is to share experiences and learn strategies on the newly developed initiative by the LNOC on the Winter Sports Programme. The meeting has been held in Maseru Lesotho from Wednesday, the 28th September and it will end on Friday, the 30th September 2022. Amongst the activities of this visit, the contingent visited the Afri- Ski Resort a snow-capped high altitude place located in Butha – Buthe District in Lesotho.

The Ministry of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation launched the National Sport Policy today , Thursday, the 29th September 2022. The launch was done by the Honourable Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation with the presence of the President Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission and President Lesotho National Olympic Committee represented by Vice President Finance Dr. Lebohang Khomari. World Clean-Up Day 2022

The World Clean Up Day Celebration was successfully held at Setsoto Stadium and Lepereng OlyAfrica Centre .

Following a successful and eventful season of youth games and international soccer games Setsoto stadium had become a home of dirt and plastic pollution thereby intriguing the LNOC to act on the unbearable conditions of the stadium
through its collaboration with LSRC and the support by the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and recreation, Ministry of Tourism and Environment and Express Credit.

Few speeches were made to commemorate this day; some of which include a powerful speech by the LNOC President Mr Tlali Rampoona

As it is its obligation to see to the development of National Federations (NFs) and its administrators, the NOC is hosting the Sports Administration Course (SAC) Level II for 26 members of the NFs with representation of 14 NFs. The course started Monday the 21st and will end Friday the 25th March 2022 under the directorship of Mrs. Mapeete NTJANA and Mrs. Moleboheng MOKOBOCHO-SEFALI.  SAC Level II focuses  on different aspects of Management; being Organizational Management, Reassures Management, Management Skills and Activities Management.

Sports Administration Level 1

In line with the LNOC long Term Strategic Plan objective to Qualify for Major Games, the LNOC undertook the Sport Administration Course (SAC) Level I for 28 members of National Federations with representation of 16 federations. These courses are aimed at assisting sport administrators and other bodies responsible for sport development to be more effective and efficient.

OVEP OPENING CEREMONY ON 25th FEBRUARY 2022

In her speech during the opening ceremony at Molengoane Lodge Nazareth in Maseru district, the Hon. Minister of Gender, and Youth, Sports and Recreation Likeleli Tampane stipulated that her office is going to work hard in making sure that it works hand in hand with the relevant office to make sure Olympism becomes part of syllabus in Lesotho schools.
