The Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) has taken a significant step in advancing sports administration by launching the Level II Sports Administration course specifically for officers of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF). This initiative, which commenced today under the leadership of LNOC Secretary General Mr. Morake Raleaka, aims to empower 30 enrolled officers with the skills necessary to enhance sports management within their respective domains.
This comprehensive course covers a diverse range of modules tailored to foster effective sports governance and development. Key topics include addressing harassment, abuse, and violence in sports, promoting sports engagement, and exploring strategies for securing sponsorships. Additionally, the program emphasizes the importance of good governance, risk management, and strategic planning, crucial elements for sustainable sports development.
Participants will also gain practical knowledge in areas such as volunteer management, health and safety, and organizing sporting events. Further, modules on communication, Olympic culture, and education will provide insights into the broader context of sports as a tool for social cohesion and community engagement.
Scheduled to conclude on Friday, November 15, 2024, this initiative not only aligns with LNOC’s commitment to promoting excellence in sports administration but also aims to equip LDF officers with the competencies needed to effectively manage and develop sports programs within their institution. By investing in the training of these officers, the LNOC is paving the way for a stronger, more professional sports environment in Lesotho, thereby contributing to the long-term growth of sports across the nation.
