The Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) has successfully completed Day 1 of the final Team Lesotho selection process for the Regional Event which Lesotho will host in Maseru this August, welcoming participants from six countries.

The selection process featured top-performing learners from schools that excelled during the National Sports Debate competition held earlier this year. Participants competed in Debating, Poetry, Public Speaking, Essay Writing, and Quiz categories, with presentations centred on Olympic Values and Ubuntu. The debate motion for the day was: “This House believes that Olympic Values and Ubuntu should be an integral part of the curriculum in Lesotho.”

LNOC Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Mathato MAKHOROLE, officially opened the event and encouraged participants to demonstrate excellence as they compete for a place on Team Lesotho.
