Beyond the Podium: Empowering Youth Through Sport and Education

We’re excited to share the incredible journey of transformation happening through the Game Changers Project, an initiative supported by the Commonwealth Games Federation in partnership with the Lesotho NOC.
This forward-thinking project is all about transitioning former elite athletes into sport leaders — giving them the tools and support they need to establish their own clubs and develop the next generation of sporting stars.
Two shining Game Changer s are Mr. Moroke Mokhotho, an Olympian, and Ms. Lerato Sechele, a Commonwealth Games athlete. Both are proud recipients of past Olympic scholarships, and now, through the Game Changers Project, they’re stepping into powerful new roles. 🌟
Not only are they helping introduce young people to the world of sport, but they’re also becoming mentors and community leaders — equipped with skills to inspire and uplift others through sport.
But the journey doesn’t stop there. As part of their development, these Game Changers and the beneficiaries are being trained by Master Trainers in Comprehensive Sexuality Education. This unique integration allows them to engage meaningfully with youth on important social issues, sparking conversations that go beyond the field or the court — addressing real-life challenges that young people face every day.
Sport has always had the power to change lives. And now, thanks to this project, our former athletes are proving that the end of a competitive career is only the beginning of a greater legacy.
👏 Let’s celebrate our Game Changers. Let’s support them as they inspire others to dream, to grow, and to believe.
